Manchester United have lined up a £30million January bid for FC Porto winger James Rodriguez, according to reports in South America.
Sir Alex Ferguson has turned his attention to the 21-year-old after missing out on Brazilian star Lucas Moura during the summer.
United, who lost out to Paris Saint Germain for Moura, still have money set aside and have made firm enquiries about the Colombian starlet.
Rodriguez has also been made aware of the interest. He admits: "We all know that Manchester United are a great club.
"
England is a great league but I'm thinking of Porto for now. We're having a good time and personally I'm feeling fine and focused on there."
United host Stoke City this weekend. The Potters haven't won at Old Trafford since a 1-0 win in 1976, but have striker Peter Crouch in goalscoring form with five so far this term.
Manchester United are 8.50 to win the match 2-1, with Wayne Rooney 4.75 to open the scoring, while Stoke are available at 26.00 to repeat their 1-0 victory of 36 years ago.
